Install ComfyUI + Manager on Windows (2026 method)

By JC · Updated

Quick answer

Download the ComfyUI Windows portable package from the official GitHub releases page and extract it with 7-Zip. The Manager is now built into ComfyUI, so you only need to install its dependencies with one pip command and start ComfyUI with the --enable-manager flag. If you use ComfyUI Desktop, the Manager is already included and enabled.

Before you start

[One or two sentences in your own words: who this is for and what they will have at the end.]

The Manager used to be a separate custom node that you installed with git. In current versions it is built into ComfyUI itself, so the setup is shorter than most older tutorials show.

1. Download and extract ComfyUI

[Your notes from the video: which file to pick, where to extract it, anything that tripped you up.]

2. Install the Manager dependencies

Open a terminal in the ComfyUI_windows_portable folder (type cmd in the Explorer address bar) and run:

.\python_embeded\python.exe -m pip install -r ComfyUI\manager_requirements.txt

3. Start ComfyUI with the Manager

Put run_with_manager.bat from this page into the same folder and double-click it. It runs:

.\python_embeded\python.exe -s ComfyUI\main.py --windows-standalone-build --enable-manager

4. Install your first custom node

Common problems

The Manager button does not show up

Make sure you started ComfyUI with the --enable-manager flag, for example with the run_with_manager.bat file from this page, not the original run file.

pip says it cannot find manager_requirements.txt

Run the command from inside the ComfyUI_windows_portable folder, not from the ComfyUI subfolder.

Do I still need to git clone ComfyUI-Manager?

Not for current portable versions. The official docs now list the git clone method as a legacy install method.
